I have had a bruise on the bottom of my foot for about 3 or 4 weeks. It is not sore but I can clearly see the crimson colored bruising on the bottom. Should I go to the doctor or just continue to wait it out in hopes that the bruise will go away. I think I may have stepped on something but don't recall anything severe. Need advice.

I would recommend that you see someone as soon as possible. Don't delay. That way you can find out what that actually is and rest at ease.
