My foot pain is not in the ball of my foot. It is in the middle under the 2nd,3rd & 4th toes at the top of my foot. My doctor said it is in the bursa??? Cortisone shots are no longer helping. Dr. said maybe surgery. Has anyone tried the shoe inserts for this pain?
Suzanne Belyea, DPM, C.Ped.
Bursitis is an inflammation of fluid-filled pocket called the bursa, which protects the body’s joints and allow you to easily move different parts of your body. Conservative treatment includes orthotics (inserts) and proper fitting shoes. You should have the length and width of both feet measured. Choose footwear that offers a wide toe box to take pressure off of the toe joints. You may also want to discuss inserts with your doctor. Read more about ready made orthotics on Foot.com.

Sincerely,
