Full Version: Big Toe Growth under the skin

I have a small growth under the skin on the big toe of my left foot. The skin on the outside of the toe moves around it so it feels as though the growth is anchored to the toe bone. It is located on the lower inside portion situated between the big toe and #2 toe. When I push on it, I experience a shooting pain. Otherwise, normal walking and running has no pain effects. I am apprehensive about seeing a podiatrist because I do not want to go through surgery to have it removed (it will keep me off that foot and mess up my golf swing). Any suggesstions as to what it is or possible treatments?

Dear Vighper
Well it could either be something as bengin as a corn or callus or it could be something more serious. Soft tissue tumors of the foot are not extremely common however do occur. Early detection is a key element to a good prognosis. I don't mean to worry you however you must be proactive, have it evaluated so that you can find out what your next plan will be.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
