I have purchased several brands of walking shoes in my normal shoe size (8.5) but I continually get calluses on the sides of my Great Toes. I have tried Nikes, Reeboks, and New Balance. I sometimes have to clip off the calluses and scrape the remaining skin. They are still painful and bothersome. They also look funny when I wear sandals. Help!

Dear Ilovegrag
Callus usually develops due to increase pressure in an area. Sometimes using a custom made orthotic may help to relieve the pressure at an area by helping to rebalance the foot and decrease the pressure applied to the big toe.
