Have an idea to give Dad a Father's Day gift that maybe helps this heel pain he gets. Some sort of package, maybe special shoes. He has fallen arches and now plantar faschiitis (sp?) and has been doing much more walking and general weight bearing over the past year than I think he ever has. Thing is, Mom tells me his pain acts up when he thinks about stressful subjects and sometimes at night. Any ideas as to what would be helpful for him?

Dear Heather
I haven't heard of stress causing an increase in heel pain, however prolonged periods of walking and weightbearing may definately trigger the painful symptoms.
I would recommend calf stretching exercises, comfortable suppotive shoes and possibly shoe inserts or orthotics.
