my father became diabetic when he turn 60 and teh he got a wound on his right foot just below the big toe- at the bone- and it has alway been festering , they have tried everything from iodine solution to proxide, and then he got pimple-like things on his face and ears and ythey told him it was the uric acid that had to find an oulet since his kdney wasnt working? and the Gout didnt help coz his got protruding bit at the tips of his elbow anyhow now the government wnats to fund his surgery but he doesnt know whom to go to please help me

Firstly, diabetic foot wounds are very difficult to deal with, usually due to the nature of the patient. Diabetic patients often have multiple medical problems which often plays a part in the management of the wound and wound healing. I would recommend that you see a diabetic foot and wound expert, there are a number of highly trained Podiatrists working at Wound care centers.
With respect to recommending a surgeon, I would have to know where you live, and I may be able to give you some direction.

well my father lives in Uganda, Africa and he used to be a Pilot for the national carrier but because he got these problems they let him go , though the government said that if he were able to get it worked on they would find him fully so i live in the Uk but i just dont know where to start looking, and besides they would need cost figures and i dont know how long it would take to heal this wound coz he says that the acid is eating into his shoesa nd therefore he has to keep buying more andyhow cost of care for up to 4 mopnth? thank you

oh and i fofrgot to sy that he gets a piercing sensation in his foot all the tome, an just worried that sooner rather than later he will lose his foot. please help me
