Dear Iftekar
Plantar fasciitis and gout are two distinct medical conditions and present themselves with different symptomatologies. Plantar fasciitis is related to heel pain and pain along the plantar fascia. It may be secondary to a tight calf muscle , related to flatfeet or can develop following increased activity or even trauma. I usually recommend stretching exercises, a heel lift, icing on and off (10 minutes on then 10 minutes off), a supportive shoe gear as well as an insert in the shoe. You may want to check out the foot.com web site for items that are available to you.

Gout is secondary to a metabolic disorder, most commonly triggered by a particular choice of food or wine. It is a disorder that commonly affects the big toe joint in the foot however, can affect other joints. In the end, it results in an arthritic process. A slight elevation in uric acid does not necessarily indicate gout. Treatment is usually medications such as Indocin, colchicine, allopurinol or probenecid. Treatment should also include diet modification and shoe/ foot wear evaluation.

good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
