I was wondering if someone could tell me what might cause small to medium size holes on the bottom of my husbands heals. He says they dont hurt. But it conserns me. The skin around them is soft and so is the skin in the middle. Thanks to who ever can help.

I am not sure what you mean by small to medium size. Is small the size of a penny and medium the size of a quarter? How deep are they? You may be describing an ulcer. The term ulcer is most commonly used when refering to a stomache ulcer but they can also happen on your feet. Foot ulcerations can be due to both neurologic and vascular complications and are most commonly associated with diabetes. Other factors that cause ulcerations are poor circulation, neuropathy, trauma and deformity. It is a condition that should not be ignored. I would recommend your husband see his doctor for a diagnosis.
