Full Version: Foot Stiffness

Todd
I work in a warehouse and walk on concrete floors at least 40 hours a week. By the time I get home, my feet are hurting. If I sit down for at least 15 minutes, I have a hard time getting up to walk again. It is like my feet do not want to bend and they are very stiff. This has only started occurring in the past couple months. It is the whole foot from the ankle to the balls of my feet that are stiff. I know I am moderately overweight and do need to lose weight but could this be the sole cause of stiffness?

I have the same problem, Celebrex is the only thing I have found to take the edge off the pain, I have plantar Fasciitis along with heel spur and tendonitis, if I sit for ten minutes, i have joint stiffness, am still undergoing more tests, I will post again when i find out more.

Dear Todd,
Your complaints are actually quite common. Surfaces such as concrete floors are not very forgiving, especially when you are on your feet for 40 hrs every week. I would suggest that you try some calf stretching exercies, make sure that you are wearing appropriate shoe gear that has good arch support, consider getting an arch support, you can start off with an over the counter type or custom orthotic (check out the shoes and inserts avavilable through foot.com, or go to a place locally that has knowledgable staff to answer your questions). I would also suggest going to your Podiatrist for an evaluation.

Good -luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
