Jamie
The past week, the tip of my big toe is numb. It does not hurt, but I am concerned this is a sign of something else that may be wrong. It has not gone away now for over a week. It started after a day I was on my feet for more than 10 hours. I had very conmfortable flat shoes on, and I am not sure what caused this or why it is not going away. Any advice?? I am otherwise a very healthy person.

Dear Jamie,
Numbness type symptoms are usually nerve related. Wearing those unfomfortable shoes may have caused temporary injury to the nerve in the big toe. You may want to go and see your Podiatrist to get evaluated, for peace of mind as well as a more accurate diagnosis. Your Podiatrist will be able to correlate your symptoms, clinical picture and history in order to give you a more accurate diagnosis.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,
