I have a question I would like to clearify. Regarding neuropathy in diabetics is that not normally affected by in long term diabetes. Does it not happen over a period of time.

Dear Ms. Wiley,
Peripheral neuropathy can occur secondary to a number of conditions. Diabetes is one of the most common etiologies of peripheral neuropathy. It usually occurs gradually, over time. Symptoms are often numbness, tingling, and burning with or without pain. I hope that I answered your questions.

Dear Jani,
I would recommend that you see you medical doctor for an evaluation and work-up for neuropathy and diabetes. Neuropathy can result from a number of reasons, diabetes only represents one etiology.
