My ankle (instead of being central on top of my foot ) overhangs the inside edge of my foot
I used to do a lot of running but had to stop because on inside of leg about 6 inches up from ankle bone tendon was pulling away from bone and a lump was developing on bone.
I do not have flat feet but have quite high arches
In morning I get pain in heel that wears of during day

You stated that you have high arches, but your description of the ankle hanging over the inside is a classic description of pronation or flat feet. It is possible however, to have an arch when sitting, but this may flatten out as you apply weight with standing. It sounds as if you would definitley benefit from a pair of orthotics. You may want to try a pair of our Lynco insoles with longitudinal arch pad which will help support the arch. This will definitey help when running so that you do not tire as easily and so that your foot is in a corrected position.
As for the heel pain this will also be helped by wearing the orthoses. If necessary later you could also try a pair of custom orthoses. These can be rather expensive so I will often suggest to my patients to try the tempory insole to see if it does provide any relief prior to investing in the custom pair.
