I have been taking lamisil for about 70 days now. My nails showed some progress, then in the last few days, maybe three or four, it looks as if there is a significant resurgence of the fungus. I had a cold and took maybe two or three advil cold capsules, and a few EmergenCs and Airbornes. Otherwise, I am very healthy, don't drink, am not diabetic or overwieght . Is it possible that my latest refill of my prescription is a placebo test, or a faulty sample? Would the pseudophedrine in the three advil capsules affect the working of the lamisil?

Dear Amy,
It's unlikely that your cold medication is interacting with Lamisil. Lamisil as you probably know is a three month commitiment. However it actually takes about nine to ten months to finally see the full affect of the medication onto your nail. It takes about that amout of time for the the nail to fully grow out. What you might want to do, if not done already, is to have your Podiatrist trim the nail appropriately with your usual monthly visit when he/she sees you. By the way I doubt that you were given a placebo.

Good-luck,
SBarlizo
