Help! This is probally my 5th year of experiencing this pain in my 2nd toe. It only happens in the winter time. It use to appear when my feet would get cold, now it happens all day long. I can not wear socks or nylons with my shoes. The redness, swelling are around the top and side of my 2nd toe. Before, when this would flare up, I would soak my foot in warm water and it would calm down. Now, it is a continous redness, swelling and very painful (especially to the touch). I did see a doctor about this a few years ago, but the symptons were not as bad. The doctor thought it might be frostbite. Please help, it is affecting my exercising and daily life. I'm 46 female, not overweight, had low thyroid, and I believe I have Raynauds, because I do loose circulation in my fingers and toes when I get cold. Thanks!

Your symptoms are most likely related to the Raynaud's Syndrome and I would suggest you discuss that with your doctor.
