hi hope you can advise me, i am a keen runner and am having trouble with my toenails(to be precise the toes next to my big toes).After a long run they go black and are very sore, i cut them regularly.Any advice would be much appreciated

Dear Chris,
Your complaint is actually very common in the running community. The nails usually darken due to the chronic intermittent pressure applied to them while running. The toes are constantly being jammed against the end of the sneaker. Probably the absolute way to solve your problem is to stop running....Okay, if this is not an option..try cutting down on the number of miles you run, make sure that you have at least a thumb width between your big toe and the edge of your shoe....Hope I could be of some help.
