I had foot surgery 2 years ago for bunion removal. My big toe is semi-numb all of the time. The other toes stay sore all of the time. There are still pins and a screw at the base of my big toe. Why do my other toes feel sore? Alos the top of my foot is sore upon standing.

Have you seen your doctor or podiatrist in these 2 years? If not, it must be done!Your other toes have pain or they are sore?

Thank you for contacting Foot.com. There are many possibilites that could lead to sore toes. Have you developed hammertoes (bent toes) in the toes that hurt? Did you change the way you walk after the surgery? Are you compensating for the pain in the big toes by putting more pressure on the smaller toes? In any event, you may benefit from an orthotic to support and control your foot and also a shoe with a rocker bottom sole.

Sincerely,
