hello , i am a diabetic on insulin, i have had a burning pain in both of my feet , a
cross my nails , it has been 4 days now , i did cut back my nails, and all so i filed
down the fungus affected nails , what can i do to stop the burning pain, if i put my feet up and lay down the pain goes away , its when i stand up with the rush of blood to my feet is when the burning pain comes back, any tips for me.

Well since you are a diabetic you really should be having your nails cut by a podiatrist to begin. Also, you sound like you have the beginning of a peripheral neuropathy. This is an alteration in the sensation of the nerves, often numbness, tingling, burning and pins and needles. This can be a serious condition and you should discuss this with your PCP and podiatrist.

I agree, you should probably be having your nails trimmed by a podiatrist. Pain to the toes due to onychomycosis or 'fungal' nails is not uncommon. However, burning or tingling across the toes can be early signs of diabetic neuropathy. Neuropathy pain can be controlled by medication, exercise and a proper diet. In other words, controlling your hyperglycemia is the key to improving peripheral neuropathy.
