I spent $300 for orthodics to get ride of a pain just in front of the ball and just behind the toes. The Dr. thinks its caused from hammer toes and until I had a set of orthodics made the right foot also had the pain. It doesnt have the pain any longer. I am a passionate golfer and carry my set of clubs, about 35 lbs. Approx.
1 1/2 miles of walking the pain comes. I have tried cushier inner soles orthodics, larger shoes with double socks.
I really dont wwant to go back to the dr. and get sucked into another $300.
Can you help me.

I would encourage you to return to the doctor. Solutions for problems such as this may take a few iterations to be successful. There are a number of questions that you would need to answer for a better understanding:
Are these golf shoes the only shoes that you have problems with? You could have a small toe box, a problem inside the shoe that is causing irritation, or a problem with a spike/screw placing pressure on the foot. Make sure the doctor sees these shoes if you are wearing them when you have problems.
Is this pain behind every toe, is it behind one toe in particular, or is it between two toes? Is there any swelling or discoloration associated with the pain?
Does the orthotic match the bottom contour of your foot, or is there a metatarsal pad ( a raised bump behind the ball of your feet.)?

Well many individuals have problems with the golf shoes. Are these the only shoes that you are having pain when wearing? If you are answer is yes then it is the golf shoes that will have to be changed. If you have other complaints then it is a good idea to be seen by your podiatrist for evaluation of the orthotics and maybe have a new pair made or adjustments made to the existing pair.
