Well the most common causes of heel pain are plantar fasciiits, heel spur, flat feet and nerve entrapment. Most individuals have the heel spur and/or plantar fasciitis. the paitent tends to complain of pain, burning to the heel area and pain worse on the first step in the morning. The key to this is often ice therapy, stretching, heel cups or orhotics and some will require steroid injection. You should make an appointment with a podiatrist for care.

I first noted the pain in my left foot about one and half years ago. Both feet were swollen, pain, at times there were feeling cold but warm to the touch, a lot of tingling.
Time progressed as did the foot condition. The right foot was excruciating, the pressure point of the heel, the top and ankle, while walking the ankle felt like a sprained ankle, that pain was intermittent, as was the top of the foot...
The DO diagnosed overweight and edema. ( I have a sedentary employment and am not into walking or running..He prescribed me a diuretic, the swelling nor the pounds either one went away.....I then had a Podiatrist check it..no diagnosis as to the foot pain...so then I had a Chiropractic adjustment, he advised me that I had Plantar Fasitis. I once again asked the DO to order foot exray..it was negative to any disease process. I searched the web for Plantar Facitis and decided that was it..I printed off the article and confronted the Podiatrist. He said that was it and order surgery...This was January 29, 2004...the foot is just as painful as it was pre op...the placement of the foot goes inward throwing my spine out of balance, causing the left hip to roll out, and now that hurts so bad, I cannot bring my left up to tie shoes, etc...while in bed, the pain goes from hip, to knee, to shin...that is in the left leg.......
I have had two injections of Cortisone in the heel with minimun relief, the Pod, taped a simulated orthodic in the arch for five days and that was very painful, The Podiatrist told me that he had cut the wrong tendon while doing the surgery and did not know what measures could correct the current problem. He wanted to try the Cortisone, the foot wrap and orthodics.
I am an Apartment Manager and have to travel cement floors and I hurt so badly I could just cry and cry....I take 4 Aleve, 2 50mg Tramadol, numerous Ibuprofen. I cannot take a lot of meds and be able to function.
Has anyone ever had a suffer as this ??? Thank you for a nice informative site.
