Hi,

I have searched the website to try and identify what injury I have caused to my foot and if there is anything that I can do to aid recovery but have not found my condition can anyone help?.

I play squash and two weeks ago I seemed to dig my foot in and my big toe bent back (the right way) but my weight went forward on the ball of my foot more than normal.

This really hrut at the time but I was able to play on, the next day I could barely walk it has got a bit better but I am still unable to put much weight on the ball of my foofy and it really hurts on the top of my foot (not the toe but further up) it is sensitive to touch and I cannot do my shoes up properly because the pressure hurts. I can run but have to run 'flat footed' if that makes sense.

Anyway I think it will get better with rest and I have been applying ICE in case I have just bruised it??

Any ideas of the specific injury I have caused and any tips on how to accelerate the healing process ( I am keen on sports and this si driving me mad)

Hopefully, Jim

Well it sounds like you have been self-treating. However, it sounds like you need an x-ray to rule out a fracture. Also, since you seemed to have jammed the toe a bit there could be some mild dislocation occuring at the joint. My recommendation is to nwo seek medical attention and make an appointment with a podiatrist.

Thanks, It is still very tender do and I have an appointment at the doctors Tuesday and will ask him to refer me under Bupa. Do you think it could be ligament damage??

Of course it is possible to be a ligament injury, but you have to now see what the doctor says. I know that you are anxious to get back to your routine but often rest is the best cure.
