I have spent a ton with Orthopedic Drs. Fitted for Orhtodics, no help. I found a foot store that sells shoes with built in support. It helps, but very expensive shoes.
I am curious about nighttime splint. Not enough information, could not enlarge picture, not helpful in size. Also gel cups for heel states small or medium, does anyone know what size a medium would be. I have also seen excercise equip for feet, anyone know where I can find on line? Do the supports fit any shoes. I have to wear business attire on daily basis. I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN.

Would appreciate any help.

Yes, the plantar night splint is very helpful to stretch out the plantar fascia which is the area which is inflammed in plantar fasciitis. You need a couple of nights to get use to sleeping with it, but it does provide relief. Unfortunately, plantar fasciitis can be easier to cure in some than in others. Have you received any injections, doen intense stretching and/or physical therapy for this condition. These may all be options. I would give the night splint a try.

I have this also and have had orthotics and cortisone injections. It helped for awhile, but now I am feeling pain in the same area where I had the shot once again. I would be interested in knowing what exercises would help. I also have a small cyst in the area where I got the shot.
I also should mention that I have very high arches.
Any help with easing the pain is much appreciated.

I too just discovered the problem with my feet as planter fasciitis. I am overweight and was told to loose weight would ease the pain on my feet. So I started aerobic class only to find the exercise, step and jumping or any excess pressure on my foot made it worse. I will continue with only walking daily for now and see if this brings relief. I was told this could take months to heal.

I have been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was told my foot was in such bad shape that I needed surgery! Does anyone have pro's and con's for this procedure? There are 2 types of surgery. One where they cut the tendon and the 2nd one is called orthotripsy. They don't cut you open........ Can anyone help me with making the right decision?
Thanks!

OK Here I am again asking advice. I did try the night time splint for this planter fascitis, I think it releived the morning pain when I would step down on the foot and stretch that plantar. But pain still continued and that was only temporary relief. So I went to Dr. and first thing was cortizone shot in my foot and x-rays which revealed heel spurs. He said surgery was the last resort we would work with releiving the pain through orthodics before he would cut on me.

So if the arch is not properly supported other problems develope not only feet, but back problems as well, of which I am beginning to experience.

So I made a few inquiries and trying to make a decision. Check out the site zcoil.com and check out these shoes. I spoke to a couple I saw wearing them and only positive things were said. So I called the company and told them about my heel spurs and asked if that would help. They said yes, they fit the shoe to your feet and work with you on the pain. So Dr. wants to make orthodics and insert into my shoe and zcoil already has them build into the shoe. Does anyone have any experience with these shoes and has it helped with spurs?

Hi There I too have had to deal with painful heal spurs and Planter Fascitis! After trying this and that with shoes and orth. plus I would have the Chiropractor adjust my foot... I was still having problems. This was going on for a couple of years. I was going to have shots but then why would I do that? I wasn't lacking anything that shot was going to give me... so I chose not to do this. I kept looking for somehting that would help naturally.
I took a class... The instructor worked on my foot... I couldn't believe it.. after 15 mins I was able to get up and walk around with no pain. I was instructed to con't to stretch my foot using The Wharton's Stretch book (techinque) I was told that if I didn't that I would never get back the "Muscle Memory" and I would end up in the same shape I was in.
Well that was 5 months ago and I live Pain free. I never thought it possible before Feb. of 2004.
This is not a "Quick" fix in the since of the word but it is! Once you get the treatment and con't to stretch... like you never have before you too can live "Pain free" Think what you want... I know what I lived with for 3 years... I hated to get out of bed in the AM but I couldn't stay there... See I learned that while you sleep your foot rests in a way that hurts you... binding it up just makes the muscles weaker.. It might help for a short term but in the long run NOT GOOD! sad.gif
What worked in the long run you ask? Repetitive Use Injury therapy, Muscle Release Techinque. http://www.mrtherapy.com/index.html
There are lots of stuff to choose from in the products One that you will not find but if you write and ask they do have one video on Planter Fascitis! This will help if you don't have someone in your area or can't fly out to Evergreen, CO

I have been doing this work since Feb. 2004 I can't believe the results!!!!!!! You too can live pain free.... I do. I wouldn't go back to Jan. 2004 for nothing!!!
I know you are going to say something like... I have stretched and it doesn't work... well you need to get out of the box! Check out what is out there and try something NEW!
Happy Stretching...

I have been in pain for over a year. I wear my nite spints religously and do stretches a throughout the day. If I put more time into the exercises maybe it would increase my recovering time. Since I had not seen much of a change this past 6 months I went back to the clinic where we decided to go ahead with the injections and continue the spints and exercise. I had heard the shots would really be painful but pain is relative. My co-workers where surprised when I came back from the doctors office and I wasn't limping or shuffling along. My heels are a bit tender after the second day but they don't hurt after I have been sitting for a long period of time.

The site above looks like it has some potential...I hope that it continues to help...
