Need Help!
Hi,

For the past few years, my feet have been getting worse and worse. My feet has developed very thick and yellowish and tough skin (the area beneath the toes). What kind of problems is this? Instead of soft skin, that area is now replaced with dead skin that is yellow in colour. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds as if you have developed calluses to the bottom of your feet. You may have not done anything wrong. This may simply be the makeup of the biomechanics of your feet. Do these areas cause you any discomfort? If so, then it is time for you to take the next step and visit your local podiatrist for a foot exam.

biggrin.gif As a licensed manicurist I've seen a lot of feet thru the years. The thick and yellow skin is partially a fungus that develops into hard calloused skin. The way to work it down it to use a skin softener rubbing it in to the areas between your toes at least once a day then put socks on to seal in the lotion for a few hours. Also use a spray with a fungicide in it such as something for athletes feet, lamisil, or tea tree. This will help medicate and kill bacteria. At least twice a week use a nail file or pedi file to loosen and remove rought skin. I have worked with clients doing this procedure and it usually clears up in about six weeks of being consistent. It never goes away completely because this type of fungus is internal coming to the external area of your feet but you can keep it under control. Good luck.
