Has anyone had this done? Has anyone used fake toenails?
Dear Bryguy
I have performed this procedure in the past on patients who presented with thickened nails, ingrown toe nails affecting both borders, or when there has been trauma to the toe such as an open fracture. Depending on the patient and the given situation the procedure may be performed either permanently or nonpermanetly. Unfortunately, I do not have too much experience with fake nails. If you are interested in the procedure, I would recommend that you see a podiatrist for an evaluation. During the visit, you can ask your doctor if the procedure is indicated and to see if you are a good candidate for the procedure. You should also discuss with your doctor the procedure, post-operative course, possible side effects, complications as well as your alternatives.
