Hi i am 26 yrs old and have been under investigation for the last 5 years as i have cavus feet and am extremly clumsey. I have had MRI scans nerve end tests and xrays, the tests have shown that i have a problem with my nerves and mucsles, it was thought that i mite have spina bifida which was proved negative but i do have talov cysts in my lower spine(not anything to do with my feet). I went back not long ago and was told that it was some sort of spinal muscle atrophy and will get worse as i get older.
The desicions has been taken that i requie alot of corrective surgery as i have clawed toes a twisted forefoot high arch weak ankle. I was wondering if anyone else has these problems and if they could explain what i cud expect from the surgery.

Have your tried custom orthotics or shoe inserts? Are your toes interfering with your walking? I have seen claw to that have fused to the top of the foot they have had them so long and they where extreme, but they did not interfere with their walking and if they were cut loose and repositioned probably would not function.

Is you only problem with your feet is that you are clumsy? Do you have control and sensation to your toes? What is the expected results of the surgery and what is the success rate? Have you had a second opinion or even a third?

Is you problem mostly spinal?
