About a month ago and performed some "in house self surgery" on my foot with a razor for callues on the bottom of my foot. I "shaved" off a little too much (I like to keep my feet smooth); and now the skin in that area has become very very hard! It looks like there is a hard, flat bubble at the bottom of my foot! Please help. Should I try to peel it off? Should I go to my doctor? I just want my foot back the way it was, it doesn't hurt to walk on it, I am just annoyed that it is there.

Dear Bloostorm
The hard skin may be secondary to a callus which forms due to pressure, however, if it is not a callus or corn , it may also be a different type of lesion. Unfortunately, you will need to see your podiatrist for an evaluation and definitive diagnosis. Your doctor will be able to help treat your problem and possibly recommend a proper treatment plan to avoid further development of the lesion. I highly recommend that you stop performing, what I call "bathroom surgery", it can only lead to trouble, such as a cut, infection, hospitalization, loss of limb or even death. I know this sounds extreme, however, I have seen it all.
Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,

Wow! I'll make an appointment as soon as possible. I don't want my foot to fall off. Thanks.
