huh.gif Hey! I have a question. I was recently told I have a torn ligament on the top of my foot... between my pinky toe and my other toe from dance. It has gone untreated, because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. But, now that I have it figured out. I'm wondering what I can do to make it heal ASAP, because I want to try out for dance team. I'm getting cortozone shots and I'm on a really small dose of medication. Is there anything else I can do? Crutches, icing, elevating? Should I substain from dancing and TaeKwondo?
DOCTOR DNK
Well yes resting from the exercising will help to heal faster. Tendons are soft tissue and require more time to heal than a fracture would. Also, you should discuss with your doctor about a foot strapping or some sort of immobilization to help with the healing process as well. REST will definitely improve your healing time.
