Feet tend to have an odor as a result of either excessive moisture through sweating or from a fungal infection ( athlete's foot). Simply washing your foot is not going to be a cure for this condition. If you have an athlete's foot then you will need to be prescribed an antifungal cream and/or powder. If you suffer from very sweaty feet then your podiatrist may be able to prescribe for you Laser-formaldehyde which works very well for my patients with this condition.

Wearing the same shoes for along period of time can result to foot odor. Changing your shoes frequently will help to eliminate the odor and making sure that you dry your feet properly, damp or sweaty feet tends to harbor fungus. Fungus strives in moist area sush as our feet.

I had this problem when I switched from 100 % cotton socks to synthetic socks. Went back to cotton and no more problem. Had to throw shoes away though. Now all my shoes smell almost new inside all the time. Hope this helps.

Yes you should always wear cotton socks since they keep the moisture away from the foot. Synthetics do not breathe and keep the moisture against the foot causing many problems. Glad to hear that you are improving.

Try using baby powder in your socks, it may help the moisture.
