Please help...The bottom sides of my feet are very scaley. And sometimes it hurts to walk because the skin is sticking out. Has anyone had the same problem? I am open to any suggestion.

p.s.- I am on my feet 9 hours a day due to work

Thank You,

Scaly or dry skin can be indicative of either dry skin ( xerosis) or athlete's foot ( tinea pedis). Do your feet itch? Do you have cracks to the skin, especially the heels? My recommendation is that you make an appointment with a podiatrist for a prescription for a urea based cream if it is the result of severely dry skin. These work much better than any over the counter preparation that you would buy. The same is true for a fungal infection. If it is a moderate to severe case then a prescribed medication will work better at ridding you of the condition.

The cracking is mostly near the balls of my feet.

That is still a possilbe site for dry skin or a fungal infection. I recommend that you follow up with a podiatrist for evaluation and treatment.
