I have been to a podiatrist to no avail. Suggested Athelets foot. After using IPR3 (Foot stone) for a few years, I have developed a thickening of skin on my heel which becomes very painful, has a yellowish tint to it. It feels as if there are tentacles reaching up into my foot when I put pressure on my heel. I have tried razors, it grows back. When my foot is immersed in warm or hot water, or after wearing socks for a period of time, my skin on my heel becomes very white and at times looks like a "brain". It has helped to use Wart remover... over a period of time, then cut it off. Is there an easier solution to whatever this is that no doctor has been able to diagnose? Thank you - ncfickes@msn.com

Well soaking your feet for a long period of time is not a good thing. It sounds as if your feet are becoming macerated, this is the medical term for whitening of the skin which results from water injury. By doing this you are putting your feet at a greater risk for fungal or bacterial infections. Based on your description I can not tell if you simply have calluses or a wart. However, I must warn you that using wart removal with out medical care and be risky. Many patients will damage healthy skin with the use of corn removal pads. I recommend that you make an appointment with a different podiatrist to find out if you indeed have warts or not. Also, your doctor may recommend a drying agent to use to help clear up the macerations. Please keep us posted as to what the doctor tells you and good luck.
