It is quite possible that you are suffering from a vesicular tinea pedis. This is the medical term for blistering athelete's foot. I recommend that you make an appointment with your podiatrist for an evaluation. Your podiatrist can use a special light which will tell you if your condition is indeed a fungal infection or if there is also a bacterial condition going on known as erythrasma. These two condtions are treated with different medications. Also, I prefer prescription anti-fungal medications to over the counter preparations. My patients do much better with the prescriptions. Also, different products should be used for between the toes then to the bottom of the foot in some cases. Please feel free to ask any other questions.

Itching.
For the last two weeks my feet have been itching terribly. What is going on. I thought is because of my cracked heels, bought a foot file. I am not blistering. My feet are fine except for some calluses. Please help. ohmy.gif

Itching can occur for a number of reasons. Itching can occur as a result of a fungal infection, dry skin or a dermatitis. Cracked heels can result from each of these conditions as well. I recommend that you need some skin emollient to help heal the cracked skin. If you have never had a fungal infection again then you should seek medical attention prior to trying to treat. You want to be sure that it is indeed a fungal infection and not some other type of dermatitis.
