It would be nice to hear other individuals experience with the surgery, but just keep an open mind. You must first know that there are different types of bunions (mild-severe) and different procedure for the bunion. This is to say that one persons experience may be very different to that of anothers. So do not get overly anxious if you feel that you are healing too slowly. Discuss this with your podiatrist or seek a second medical opinion if you are concerned.

My wife had a Keller Procedure carried out on both feet on the 15 Dec 04. Its now the 27 Mar 04 and she is still in a certain amount of pain with both feet. Both feet swell up every day and we are wondering whether this is normal?? We are just keeping finger crossed that she is still on track with her recovery. The consultant does not seem overly worried, but as each week passes she becomes more and more anxious. ANy thoughts on the matter would be gratefully appreciated

It has only been a few months and each individual heals differently. I am not going to tell you not to worry because you will, but that is not a long period of time in medical healing. However, discuss with your wife's doctor about possible physical therapy to help reduce the swelling. Some individuals can have swelling for up to a year after the procedure. Just keep up with appointments and ask about physical therapy.
