just me!
Hi:

Does anyone else experience this? I'm a Chef and on my feet all day. When I get home, my feet throb, ache and just plain hurt. If I get off of them and prop them up, they feel better, until I stand up and they start hurting all over again. I've tried buying different types of shoes like New Balance (which just seems to make it worse) Danskin, Berkenstock, you name it, I've tried them. I do have Plantar Fasciitis, but that isn't the same pain I'm experiencing here.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dear just me!
Usually plantar fasciitis presents with pain to the arch of the foot and/or heel. Your symptoms sound typical of a patient suffering from plantar fasciitis, pain relieved with feet propped up but aggrevated when standing from a seated position. If you do have plantar fasciitis, the recommendation is usually a combination of stretching the achilles tendon and gastrocsoleus, icing the affected area 10-15 mins at a time on and off 2-3-times a day, wearing proper shoe gear with good arch support, orthotics (custom made or over the counter) and anti-inflammatories, as prescribed by your doctor. When patient's have heel pain, pain can also radiate to other areas of the foot, due to compensation.
If you continue to have pain, you should follow-up with your podiatrist for an evaluation, just to make sure that your diagnosis is definately plantar fasciitis and not something more serious.

Good-luck and thank-you for contacting foot.com,

I too have this same problem. I can be walking with no problems and like the snap of your fingers me feet hurt and burn and throb. I have found that Berkenstocks work the best for me and if I wear any other shoe within one hour my feet start hurting all over. The other day I had to take my shoes off while grocery shopping and just stand in one spot for about 5 minutes. Let me know if you find out what is causing this. Thanks.
